John Lennon on the theory of evolution
Posted by Simon Peter Sutherland in New atheism in England, Science and evolution on December 13, 2012
“I don’t believe in the evolution of fish to monkeys to men. Why aren’t monkeys changing into men now? It’s absolute garbage. It’s absolutely irrational garbage, as mad as the ones who believe the world was made only four thousand years ago, the fundamentalists. That and the monkey thing are both as insane as the other… The early men are always drawn like apes, right? Because that fits in the theory we have been living with since Darwin.”

Atheist threatens Christian: UK, YouTube atheist writes threats against Ray Comfort saying “Somebody shoot him”
Posted by Simon Peter Sutherland in New atheism in England on October 6, 2012
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing” Edmund Burke
Well, this atheist movement is really getting quite verbally nasty, and I for one am concerned about the aggression which is being stirred up against Christians amongst modern militant atheists.
This morning I was shocked to read a comment left on a video on Ray Comforts channel, “The Way of the Master” concerning Richard Dawkins vs Ray himself.
On this video entitled: “Ray Comfort meets Richard Dawkins …almost” a certain UK YouTube atheist who calls himself ‘Scott Paton (http://www.youtube.com/user/samuri222) left a comment on this video saying the following;
Quote, “Ray Comfort is a conceited idiot. Come s up with the same rhetoric all the time. Somebody shoot him before the men in white coats take him away and section him. Why am I even bothered with this. I will leave it someone else to punch him in the face“
Is this how modern atheists would define Freedom of speech, Religion and thoughts? Or this this what modern atheists are really like under the surface?
A person could say that the atheist was not being literal or had no intention of this act to be actually carried out, and you could say that, but what is even clearer is that such words could be seen as instructive, since they could be taken to involve a threat to person’s physical safety.
Although some may ignore this and claim this problem is no cause for concern, each person must decide for himself or herself. But one thing is clear to me, that the modern militant atheism is anything but tolerant and they need to calm down a bit.
Here is the video in question complete with the comment thread. See if what I am saying is not so.
Peter Hitchens quote on Dawkins, the enemy of Britain and Christianity
Posted by Simon Peter Sutherland in England issues, New atheism in England on August 27, 2012
“Far too seldom the enemies of Britain actually admit their real goals. The greatly overpraised Professor Richard Dawkins (pictured) has now blurted out in a Left-wing magazine that his aim is to ‘destroy Christianity’.
Well, I knew that, and you probably knew that – but the anti-religious lobby have until now always pretended that they were just nice, tolerant people.
They’re not. They’re as intolerant as the Spanish Inquisition, but not yet ready to show it.”

You Tube Atheist threatens Christian ~ The problem of ‘Militant Atheism’
Posted by Simon Peter Sutherland in England issues, Issues with Christianity in England today, New atheism in England on August 5, 2012
Over the last few years the internet based Samuel Zwemer Theological Seminary has been running a You-Tube channel of which English Theist and Christian, Jason Burns has been debating with atheists in America and England too.
Jason Burns is a friendly Christian who offers free and open debates of reason with all atheists on the topic of Christianity.
Although all Christian/Atheism debates should always be open and reasonable in their conduct, the atheist debates which take place beyond the surface of the likes of the somewhat calm debates offered by the likes of Sam Harris, are far from reasonable, as Samuel Zwemer Theological Seminary bagan to find out some-time after the Seminary first began to debate with modern atheists. The problem began when seminary founder, Jason Burns began to receive threats at his home address from atheists, phone calls and nasty comments on You-Tube. Some of the comments were absolutely slanderous.
In 2011 I too joined the debate and saw for myself just how nasty things were getting and out of my concern for society and religious freedom, after a few months I decided I was no longer going to debate with atheists on You-Tube and so I made a video calling for the government to look into this atheist movement and the clear hatred which is manifesting from individuals and atheist groups. Obviously my video was refuted by people from the modern atheist movement, of which no atheist has actually dealt with the points I raised but merly swayed off onto other issues.
Atheists have the habit of twisting things around and putting focus on other things and not the issues raised.
The problem is that the atheist movement is getting nasty and beyond reason. I for one am concerned about this movement, and although I confess there are atheists in both England and America who are peaceful and respectful to Christians and people of other religions, the movement is manifesting bigotry and hatred too and even violence towards Christians.
One such atheist from America states the following on his YT channel; “My channel. I am an atheist. Why? Because I have a brain, and anyone who believes in flying zombies and magic does not. To believe in a god without undeniable proof is to prove you are a retard.”
I find his use of the word “retard” an insult to humanity.
This atheist who claims to be from “Grand Rapids Mi, United States” and has been on using this You-Tube account since ’10 Jun 2006′ left a slanderous comment against Zwemer100 on You Tube. I refuse to post the comment in question, but it can be read on the thread of the video ‘Policing Atheism’ by True Pooka. The comment has been recorded.
This comment was slanderous to say this least and a reply was left to state that his comment was illegal and slanderous.
Zwemer100 replied to You Tube channel who is named ‘sirvgeta’ with the following response;
Zwemer100: “Slander is illegal if you are defaming someone else falsely. You, your quote and your channel have been noted.”
Sirvgeta replied with the following;
Sirvgeta; “You should give me your address so we can voluntarily meet up, giving me the opportunity to BEAT THE **** out of you. Come on, what do you say? Unless you’re unskilled and scared.”
This comment is just one of many nasty and threatening comments made by atheists on You Tube towards genuine Christians and it is clear not only to me but to many that the situation is getting dangerous.
I do wish the modern atheists would calm down a little and respect the fact that different people do not all see things the same way and although they claim to follow facts, the fact is that Theology and faith cannot always be measured by a scientific test tube.
See for yourself if what I am saying is not so!
Christopher Hitchens errors concerning the deaths of John Wycliffe and Myles Coverdale
Posted by Simon Peter Sutherland in England issues, New atheism in England on July 28, 2012
The late and somewhat outspoken atheist Christopher Hitchens in his popular book “God is not great” made many claims from both history and the present and from historical texts, religious texts and books regarded as sacred by many, out of which he attempted to dismatle the walls of religion brick by brick by applying the written content towards his criticism based upon his logic and interpretation of which his claims towards history. It is clear that his understanding of religious narratives have impacted the lives of many modern atheists and religious folk today.
Hitchens certainly wrote a book in which he attempted to grind his axe against all things religious and Christian. Yet the problem is that many folks regard this book as somewhat dynamic and excellent, yet many of them are ignorant of the clear cut errors of Hitchens work.
One such error is in his claim that devout Christian men such as John Wycliffe, Myles Coverdale and Tyndale were all burned alive at the stake.
In his book, “God is not great” Hitchens writes the following, quote; “Devout men like Wycliffe, Coverdale, and Tyndale were burned alive…”
This is simply not accurate at all. Although he was correct that Tyndale was burned, he was not burned alive, on the contrary, Tyndale was strangled first, then his body was burned and the facts remain that early English Bible translator John Wycliffe was not burned alive at all, but suffered a stroke on 28 December 1384 during a service at Lutterworth Church and died the last day of that month. Wycliife was not burned alive at the stake.
Likewise, early Bible translator Myles Coverdale was not burned alive as Hitchens claimed but died on 20th January 1569 at London of natural causes.
What is clear to me is that Hitchens was so intent on lashing out in a war of words against all thing religious, that his own bitterness towards Christianity is demonstrated by his total lack of ability to even present accurate research into the historical facts behind one of the religions which he was so vehemently attacking.
Atheism is antichrist
Posted by Simon Peter Sutherland in Issues with Christianity in England today on December 15, 2011
“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.” (1 John 2: 18)
The apostle John, the disciple Jesus loved and he who did witness the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His resurrection, wrote the above words. He speaks about a people or a person, over whom much ink has been spilled. This person or persons is “the antichrist“.
Interestingly enough, John’s letters are the only places in the Bible where the actual name “antichrist” is used in direct wording. This wording can be found in 1 John 2: 18, 1 John 2: 22, 2 John 1: 7.
All other texts which are connected with antichrist are interpretated as referring to antichrist.
The question remains; Who then is antichrist?
Well, if we read further, we find that John tells us; “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.” 1 John 2: 22
Firstly, 1 John 2: 22 tells us that antichrist denies the Godhead, the trinity, he also denies that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, God incarnate.
Secondly, 1 John 2: 18 tells us that there are “many antichrists“. From this verse we can conclude from the text of this passages that antichrist should not merely be understood as one man, nor limited to one man, for there are many antichrists.
Thirdly, we know antichrist is a liar (1 John 2: 22)
Fourthly, we know that antichrist does deny that Jesus came to earth as God and became flesh and blood and dwelt on earth, this can be concluded from the following passage; “For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.” (2 John 1: 7)
Thus, we can conclude with certainty that antichrist was in the world when John wrote this passage (1 John 2: 18) and that antichrist does not deny Jesus as a person, for only an ignorant person can deny the historical reality of the historical Jesus, but antichrist denies Him as God (2 John 1: 17) and we can also conclude that antichrist is not limited to one person or man, for there are many (1 John 2: 18)
Sounds a lot like atheism, maybe even the modern atheist movement? After all, if John is referring to atheists, we know that atheists did exist in the Biblical times, since David wrote; “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works” Psalm 14: 1. So we can conclude that if atheists existed in Davids time, they must have also existed in John’s time, hence the words; “even now are there many antichrists” (1 John 2: 18)
Fools have always been on the earth, but in reality, whether or not you believe in an antichrist or many antichrists or one distinct antichrist, it must be stated that atheism is antichrist, it denies God and thus denies Jesus as God, yet often has no problem with a certain Jesus who is not the Jesus of the gospels, not divine and not God in the flesh, thus, the atheist Jesus is not the Jesus of Christianity. It promotes another Jesus and believes the creature is the creator and denies that the divine Jesus is the creator, contrary to John 1: 1-3.
Thus, modern atheism may or may not actually be ‘The antichrist’ but it can be said with certainty atheism is ‘antichrist’ and since atheism is currently growing through the commercial and widespread influence of antichrist teachers such as Richard Dawkins and Christofer Hitchens, we can say that atheism is actually becoming a religion of sorts, even though many modern atheists inconsistently deny that.
But they deny the creator, so what do they know about the Truth?
Thus, modern atheism may or may not be a trendy fad or a flash in the pan, but it certainly is not going away any time soon. Thus, I conclude that the rise of atheism has been prophesied already in scripture as a warning for all Christians to not be deceived by it.
And in reality, the reason so many people follow these lies is because they are not of the truth and never were of the truth, as John says in the following text;
“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” 1 John 2: 19
God bless all those who are His children, who did belong to Him even before the foundations of the world were laid.
